download .zip file (13mb) this EP was composed over the course of a week for the first iteration of "project 168" on the "we are the music makers" forum. the idea of the project was for all participants to create an EP entirely within the course of a week (or 168 hours, hence the name.) it was also the first maus release completed after i moved to los angeles at the end of 2004.

operating within such a stringent timeframe is both frustrating and liberating, as the deadline constraints lend themselves to new creative concepts, but are, still, constraints.

having said that, track 2 (rucoqqu) is one of my all-time favourite maus tracks. the way things develop melodically are interesting to me, and the overall energy of the track has a nice cadence and tempo to it.
