mausdisc 1.2 was put together in 1998. in fact, 'mexican babies' (track 8) was the first ever maus track.
it's version 1.2 for a specific reason, but i don't really remember why. i think the original mausdisc had stuff that wasn't specifically written as maus. i had put it together initially to give to a few friends (this was back when people still used CDs, mind...)
this more official version has tracks all written as maus.
everything on this album was written using my alesis quadrasynth, korg prophecy, roland jp-8000 and emu ESI-32 sampler. i was still using cakewalk professional 3 as my sequencer back in these days, and i was still using windows. i made most of the drum sounds either by sampling wierd noises, or synthesising them in a pc program called "stomper". then everything got mixed to DAT using a mackie 1604 VLZ.
the cover art shown was actually done for the re-issue of mausdisc 1.2, done some time around 2003. it was created using coiled pieces of metal which i heated up and then threw onto heat-sensitive fax paper.
