it was entirely put together in propellerheads' reason 1 (version 2 came out just as i was finishing the album, actually) on my new 15" titanium powerbook.

it still has a rather 'canned' sound to me - version 1 didn't have a lot of sonic flexibility, though things have changed considerably since then as far as reason goes.

the bulk of these tracks were composed while sitting on the floor in front of my couch, and watching various tv shows. most of the track titles sort of reflect this, as most of them refer to either things that were said on tv just as i was saving the tracks, or, some image or visual.

the album's full name is "today smelled like the air and space museum", which is annoying. i thought of it while driving home from work one day in reston, VA. the air smelled like the smithsonian air and space museum that day. it was wierd, i dunno.

track 9, roofpanela, seems to be a favourite amongst maus listeners.
